Post-16

Students who take our Post 16 courses, enjoy a proven record of success in further and higher education, and in the world of work.

Each student's progress and development are carefully monitored, while pastoral care continues throughout the student's Post-16 life.

We are very proud of the wide range of AS and A2 level courses on offer and the increasingly diverse range of extra curricular opportunities.

The Post-16 centre includes a common room, study area and computer suite. This allows students to have access to excellent modern facilities for both study and socialising.

Admissions

Ponteland is open to any post 16 student, provided that:

• There is a suitable course for them to follow
• They have met all of the entry requirements for the chosen course
• They have shown commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to work on their GCSE courses
• They agree to the student/school agreement outlining our expectations of the student and what they can expect from the school.

At Ponteland, we hope to lead our students towards self reliance and maturity; high expectations are placed upon them with regard to work and behaviour. We trust them to respect the increased freedom that they will experience throughout their Post-16 studies.
